PATH Variable

In all Recorded TV Manager software, the PATH variable is the location of the Recorded TV Manager data files.  All the software modules should be synchronized to the same PATH variable.

Recorded TV Manager Console PATH

In the Console, the default PATH is

Windows Vista, Windows 7

C:\ProgramData\
           Drasch Computer Software\
               Recorded TV Manager

Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\
          All Users\Application Data\
              Drasch Computer Software\
                    Recorded TV Manager

Note that in Vista or Windows 7, the ProgramData folder is considered a system folder which is hidden under default settings.  It may be necessary to use Folder View Options in Windows Explorer to make the ProgramData folder visible.

Synchronizing Recorded TV Manager 3

If you install Recorded TV Manager 3 on the Host, it will automatically synchronize with the Console data files.

Installing Recorded TV Manager 3 on other computers requires the following steps to synchronize with the Console:

  1. The PATH folder on the Host needs to be shared.  See Folder Sharing.
  2. On the client machine (not the Host) manually set the Recorded TV Manager 3 PATH.  See Manually Set the PATH.
  3. Set the PATH to the UNC share defined in #1.

Synchronizing Recorded TV Manager Media Center Add-in

Recommended: First install Recorded TV Manager 3 on the Media Center machine and follow the instructions above to synchronize with the Console.

Install the Media Center Add-in and it will automatically use the PATH variable defined for Recorded TV Manager 3.
