Recorded TV Manager Add-in for Windows^® Home Server

Recorded TV Manager Add-in for Windows Home Server is designed specifically for Home Server networks that include one or more Windows Media Center machines which record television programming for later viewing ("time shifting").  Read the review.

• Collections - Collect series episodes automatically to the Home Server (or other location) and then watch them in original broadcast order on any Media Center computer on the network. See Collection Scenarios.
• AutoMove - Automatically move all new recordings on a specific Media Center computer to the Home Server (or other location).  Great for that old XP Media Center machine with the small hard drive!
• AutoDelete - Automatically delete duplicate recordings and previously watched episodes.  Overcomes some of the shortcomings of the Media Center scheduler.
• Runs 24/7 on the Home Server as a Windows Service Application (What's this?). Fully configurable using the Recorded TV Manager tab in the Windows Home Server Console from any connected client machine on the Home Server network.
• Series Info Database - Keeps track of every episode you've recorded and when it was watched, even after it's deleted.  Helps answer the question, "Did we see this episode?"

Recorded TV Manager WHS Client Application

The Recorded TV Manager WHS Client application is a Windows application which you install and run on any Home Server client computer.  Free download for users of Recorded TV Manager Add-in for Windows Home Server.

Use the Recorded TV Manager WHS Client application to more/copy/delete recorded TV episodes using drag-n-drop or context menus, print listings of series collections, play recordings directly off the server, and more.  Also provides access to the Series Info database which keeps track of what episodes you've recorded and when you watched them.

MCECollections is the working name for a planned suite of Vista Media Center functions (Media Center Presentation Layer Application) which will provide access to and control over your recorded TV collection.

Play Next is the first of these functions and it provides an easy-to-use add-in to the Vista Media Center user interface to play the next episode in a recorded TV series collection, regardless as to where it is stored on the Home Server network.
