AutoCopy
Folders in the folder list which are designated as a Media Center folder are monitored for file creation and deletion of dvr-ms files (Media Center recordings). You can define AutoCopy Rules which will automatically move or copy files in response to those events. See Scenarios for examples.
Important: Recorded TV Manager must be running and the folder must be present in the folder list and the folder must be designated as a Media Center Folder, in order for these events to be processed. It is recommended that Recorded TV Manager be placed in the Windows Startup folder to ensure that it always restarts with Windows and runs 24/7. See Windows Help and Support Center for information on how to add a program to the Startup folder.
From the Tools menu select AutoCopy... to open the AutoCopy Rules dialog box. To create a new rule, click the New... button. To modify an existing rule, click the Modify... button. To remove a rule, click the Remove button. To temporarily disable a rule, remove the checkmark for the rule in the AutoCopy rule list.
An OnCreate Rule is triggered (fires) when a new TV recording (dvr-ms file) of a specific series is created by Media Center. When a new series recording is created, you can define an OnCreate rule to automatically move or copy the new recording to a different folder in the folder list. An OnDelete Rule is triggered (fires) when a TV recording (dvr-ms file) of a specific series is deleted by Media Center. When a recording is deleted, you can define an OnDelete rule to move or copy the next episode of the same series from a different folder in the folder list.
An OnCreateAny Rule is triggered (fires) when any new TV recording (dvr-ms file) is created by Media Center in a specific Media Center folder. When a new program recording is created, you can define an OnCreateAny rule to automatically move or copy the new recording to a different folder in the folder list.
Note: An OnCreate rule for a specific series always takes precedence over an OnCreateAny rule for the same Media Center folder.
When a new recording fires an associated OnCreate rule and there is an OnDelete rule also defined (and enabled) for the same series, the following implicit event rules are applied:

If the location of the new recording is the same as the destination folder of the OnDelete rule, and if there are no other recordings of this series in the destination folder of the OnDelete rule, then the new recording will be left in place. Otherwise, the new recording will be moved or copied as defined by the OnCreate rule for this series.

If the location of the new recording is different than the destination folder of the OnDelete rule, and there are no other recordings of this series in the destination folder of the OnDelete rule, then the new recording will be moved to the destination folder of the OnDelete rule. Otherwise, the new recording will be moved or copied as defined by the OnCreate event for this series.
